Below is the brief introduction of fountain pen
Grip
The component formed by covering and fixing the nib and the tongue with a tubular material is called the grip position. The grip position is closely related to the comfort of the grip. In addition to the common circular cross-section, various ergonomic designs often contain designer’s ingenuity. In addition, the grip’s friction, hardness, size, shape and The feel of writing is closely related.
pen
The tubular structure that connects the holding position and covers the ink storage device is called the pen barrel. The material and shape of the pen holder are changeable. The design is divided into general size and short rod. When writing with a short rod, the cap is placed on the end of the rod. The increased length makes it more comfortable to hold and write.
Water/ink storage mechanism
The water/ink storage mechanism includes drip-type inking, cassette-type ink tube, piston inking, ink absorber, inking by bladder, drawbar inking, submarine inking, etc.
The dripping ink is directly stored in the pen tube behind the holding position. When refilling the ink, the holding position is turned off and the ink is directly injected into the pen tube with a dropper. The advantage is that the ink storage is large, but the disadvantage is that it is easy to seep and cause pollution.
The cartridge type ink tube is to encapsulate the ink in a sealed ink tube, and then install it behind the holding position when in use. Use the ink tube protruding behind the holding position to pierce the seal of the ink tube, or open the small bead that closes the ink tube. Allow the ink to flow along the ink tube to the nib. The beads that close the ink tube have another function: due to the small volume of the ink tube, the weight of the ink stored may not be enough to overcome the adhesion between the ink and the ink tube (capillary phenomenon), causing the ink to accumulate on the top of the ink tube and cannot flow into it. The tip of the pen, at this time, the movement of the beads in the ink tube along with the writing action in the ink tube is enough to break the adhesion of the ink to the ink tube.
The piston is inked, and a section of hollow sleeve is connected behind the holding position. There is a knob in the sleeve that is linked to the end of the pen, which can be controlled by the knob to move back and forth in the sleeve. When the piston moves back, it facilitates the inner stroke of the sleeve. With negative pressure, the ink can be sucked in through the pen tip and stored in the sleeve.
Press the bag for inking, connect a rubber or silicone ink bag behind the holding position. The inside of the ink bag is the space for ink storage. Usually there is a U-shaped reed on the outside of the ink bag to protect the ink bag, which is squeezed through the reed when inking. The pressure ink bag discharges air, and after the pressure is released, the ink is sucked in by the negative pressure of the ink bag returning to its original shape.
Inking on the pull rod is a deformation of inking by pressing the bag. A pull rod is installed on the pen barrel. When ink is applied, the pull rod is pulled to press the ink bag in the pen barrel to ink.
Inking on the crescent is also a deformation of the inking on the sac. A curved (crescent-shaped) button is installed on the barrel. The arc-shaped tenon that is usually attached to the barrel passes through the gap between the barrel and the arc-shaped button. Ink-proof mechanism, remove the tenon when inking, so that the crescent-shaped tenon will be pressed downwards, pressing the ink sac in the pen barrel to apply the ink.
Inking on coins is also a deformation of inking by pressing the sac. A long hole is opened in the barrel of the pen, and the coin is inserted into the long hole when inking to press the ink sac in the barrel to apply ink.
The ink absorber can be regarded as a composite body of a cartridge type ink tube and a piston for inking or a pressure capsule for ink. The front is a cassette combined with a holding position, and the rear is a pressure capsule or piston ink only mechanism, without ink absorption. The cartridge type ink tube of the same specification can also be removed and replaced.
